I have been writing website text for many years now. if your website is boring and dry let me fiddle with it. Mostly I can’t tell you which websites because the ‘authors’ want to remain the owners of the copy. It is like ghostwriting. I can do it from scratch, so long as I get an outline of what you need. iIcan collate bits of text into an understandable whole. I can edit, make the text more interesting and deliver it to you for your webmaster or yourself to padte in. FICTION

Here is where you learn how to submit your book to me for possible publication (bound with an ISBN). You can become a published author with physical books in your hand to sell - much better than photocopied papers stapled together inside a cardboard cover! It needs to be a political novel based on a conflict. See my currant titles to get an idea of what I accept - click the BOOKS tab at the top of the page. If you were there, or have done thorough research and can write a good novel - pitch it to me. Perhaps you should buy ‘Bougainville Blue’ , ‘Dingo Trapper’, or ‘Sailing To Cairns’, first to find out what interests me? I assist with distribution if I accept a novel - which includes website presence, copies in local bookshops and wholesale lots available to the author. I am not a big publishing house. Publishing with me is a collaborative project. I believe the author should have a lot of say about how his text finishes up. He should feel it is ‘his’. Send me about ten pages and a synopsis in a document - and so long as it’s not written in wingdings or maritime flags I’ll read it. I will respond to your submission within three months. I’m not into publishing many more books because the price of printing and postage has gone up to a ridiculous height recently. I am not into ebooks other than Amazon Kindle - so if you want me to publish it will be on the proviso that you will do a lot of promotion and selling and your novel has ‘legs’ in the marketplace. The first promotional thing you should do is put your bio up there - see the link on the bar at the top of the page.

I will set the type into a formatted book, design the cover, then I will give you access to wholesale copies of whatever amount you want from one to one thousand. I will assign an ISBN. I will not be making your book available through national retail outlets. That is the job of the author. Niche books need to be promoted by those who are passionate about them. I have lost hundreds of dollars and been unable to pay royalties because bookshops have lost, had stolen or ruined books. The cut given to the publisher is minimal and not worth it.

SELF PUBLISHING

I will aid you from as little as typesetting a word document and converting it to PDF, to designing a cover and getting a print run done and delivered to your door  if you want your book in print – which is called assisted self-publishing, I will do it. I will deliver you a printer ready PDF of text and/or cover please liaise with a printer first to find out exact specifications. I will not take on all works submitted but will do so as time permits. You will have complete ownership of the book as i will not assign an ISBN.

ALL MANUSCRIPTS HAVE TO HAVE BEEN THROUGH SOME EDITING AND PROOFREADING WORK BEFORE I FORMAT IT INTO A BOOK. I DO NOT DO THESE FUNCTIONS OTHER THAN ERRORS NOTICED WHILE TYPESETTING THE WORK

NONFICTION

If you have been cruising in any area of the world, I am interested. in using your ‘logs’. I am not interested in another guide for a place that’s fully covered in previous publications. I’m happy if you want to do a guide to Antarctica or the Northwest passage. That’s a bit unusual. You will receive a one-off license fee for the use of your information, realising I may use several sources to compile any one guide. The guide will be made available through retail outlets.

Formatting Guidelines

Submit as an attachment in Rich Text Format to dianepithie @ gmail.com

All text should be 12 point Times New Roman, Arial or Courier New

Italics should be used sparingly, for special emphasis, etc. No underlining, bold or uppercase.

The author’s name should follow the title of the manuscript.

Write ‘The End’ after the last line to ensure we have the whole submission

The first line of a paragraph should be indented.

At the end of each paragraph push enter once then tab

Use one space bar after after punctuation and between words

Manuscripts should be double spaced

All numbers should be written except dates. Use this pattern, ‘25/2/06′.

Use double quotes in speech and single quotes in other places where needed.

Technical terms and acronyms should be described when they first appear in the text.
